Maggie Gill Leads MUMC With Unmatched Competence.

When Maggie Gill joined MUMC (Memorial University Medical Center) in 2004, she was the vice president of finance and managed care. In 2005, Gill rose to become the chief operating officer. She served in this role until 2011 when she was appointed as the president as well as the chief executive officer of Memorial Hospital. In her capacity as the chief executive officer and president, Gill provides leaderships for the organizations’ senior vice presidents, vice president, and physician leaders.

Maggie Gill is also the lady responsible for the physician relations, internal audit, government relations, orthopedic and neuroscience programs. Maggie is also directly responsible for the Memorial Health University Physicians, the heart and vascular institute, financial assistance, perioperative services, trauma services, facilities management and corporate communications.

Before she joined Memorial University Medical Center, Gill had spent half a decade serving Tenet South Florida Health System. During this tenure, Gill was awarded the Tenet Outstanding chief financier of the year a total of three times. In the time she spent at Tenet South Florida Health System, Gill worked at North Shore Medical Center located in Miami, Coral Gables Hospital, and the Palmetto General Hospital based in Hialeah.

Gill boasts of an outstanding educational background. She attended the Florida State University and attained a bachelor’s degree with honors. Gill also got an MBA with honors from the St. Leo University located in Florida. She has also attended and completed course work in strategic thinking and management at Wharton School.

Speaking about the changes facing the health care industry, Gill told the Memorial health board that the revenues at MUMC might go down. Gill and the board officers warned that without a generous and wealthy partner, the hospital might face increasing revenue challenges no matter how many patients they got. Gill said that the situation was to be blamed on the fact that one in every three patients are unable to settle their bills fully. This bill includes the reductions in government reimbursements for health care. Gill has, however, unveiled a strategy to turn around Memorial Hospital’s course.

Maggie Gill is also a wife and a mother of two children who she loves passionately. Despite her busy schedule, Gill creates time to catch up with her kids every evening. Maggie said that outside her office, her family is the most important thing. She spends time with her family in activities such as fishing, hiking and traveling together.
