How Jose Borghi Created Mullen Lowe

José Borghi, the founder of the Mullen Lowe ad agency, is a highly lauded as one of the most impactful advertisers in his medium. The successful trajectory of his career started with a question: which career path to follow? While a junior high school, his sister invited him to see a performance at the Castro Neves Theater to help him choose. The presentation was a display of movie previews of films that were awarded in Cannes. From there, José Borghi knew what his career would be, but he could not have known then that he would someday win at Cannes.

José Borghi graduated in Advertising and Propaganda by PUC from PUC-Campinas. The first job in this field was at the ad agency Standart Ogilvy. The Brazilian advertising editor soon stood out and began his own agency, BorghiErh. Together with his partner Erh Ray, they started the Brazilian ad agency from scratch. They had no investors to rely on and with no employees, they had to fulfill any need that Mullen Lowe had. These needs ranged widely from media and marketing to fundraising and accounting. At the beginning, Borghi and Erh Ray were even getting their own coffee. They were very successful and were soon bought by Lowe, becoming Borghi Lowe in 2006 and splitting the Presidency. The Ad Agency has grown and gained even more of a following in the domestic and international market. They recently merged with Lowe & Partners and the Mullen group, the agency is now called Mullen Lowe. With Jose Borghi at the helm this we can expect success.
